THE PHLEGRAEAN FIELDS

As soon as you disembark at our landing place, you can immediately breathe an air full of culture. The Phlegraean Fields offer several historical, nature and mythical itineraries: from the Flavio amphitheatre to the Serapide Temple from the extraordinary Roman ruins of Rione Terra to the “moon” crater of the Solfatara, one of the few open-sky active volcanoes that can be visited.
10 km further on is the Aragonese Castle of Baia, seat of the archaeological Phlegraean Museum with its beautiful view over the Gulf of Pozzuoli, while the submerged archaeological park at the foot of the Castle – 5/6 metres below sea level – is a unique occasion for an underwater trip: Bacoli instead offers the outstanding itineraries of the Cento Camarelle and the Piscina Mirabilis (A Roman Cistern);
